Introduction. The Learning Center Newsletter was a free online newsletter edited and published by Mon Nassar of Engineerica Systems, Inc., a software company specializing in learning center software. The Newsletter ran from 2000 to 2007. It featured practitioner-written book reviews, SI and disability articles, internet resources for learning centers, learning assistance news items, regular columns on management strategies & tips, online learning, student study skills tips, and person of the month citations, along with a conference schedule, selected publications list, MS Word tips, Windows Software picks, jokes, and quotations by the editor.

These conference proceedings are collections of presentations given at the annual conferences along with other learning center material that the editorial board deemed appropriate to the issue. Conferences were sponsored by Long Island University and directed by Lester Wilson. The first volume was published in 1983. All volumes are available from Library Learning Center of Long Island University, The Brooklyn Campus, Brooklyn, NY 11201.
